Hi Dan, I just watched your video on the evolution of the entrepreneurial mind as it spirals through success into significance. A nice and succinct video.
Dr. Dan … great article and its description of the entrepreneurial mind. The end of the paper briefly inquires about linking the psychology of entrepreneurship to other fields and quickly mentions economics. I would want to see an exploration of the entrepreneur into a much broader and deeper conception of “the social.” I think that an association of “entrepreneurship = making money” is a common interpretation and use of the concept … and is therefore a limitation for social justice. The realm of economics becomes, and “is”, essentialised and reified. “The social” is much more than economics … it is also culture, politics, spaces/places, spirituality and history … and the way all these realms interconnect.
Therefore, a question to ask is how can an understanding of the entrepreneurial mind support the development of entrepreneurship of “the social” in ways that are ethical, responsible and just?
Thanks for this resource.
Super article by Norris Krueger Dan. Thank you. Yes, yes and yes. It’s one thing to see and recognize the popcorn trail of connections between situations and things, and even pick up some or all of the popcorn. Hey, now I’ve got this bowl of popcorn and connected dots, now what ?
The “now what” is the magic of manifesting that vision. How does one offer life to this idea ? Sleeves rolled up and happy in the diving deep in the detail of what comes next as one is doing what they love. That is Entrepreneurship in my world.
Hi there Brenda, as I’m sure you know being terrific coach to entrepreneurs that once the popcorn is in the bowl then it’s time to share it with someone near to you. Ironically sharing can spread the nourishment so much farther than doing things all alone. Now what, indeed! Yes, doing what one loves and loving what one does enriches the entrepreneurs world. thanks for this post, looking forward to your next visit.
Anytime Sarah. Stay tuned, this is where we can both “help happiness happen”.
Terrific way to “flush out” the fullness of the evolutionary impulse in entrepreneurship, Gary. My guess would be that once an entrepreneur has developed to the point that they can “make money, have fun and put something back” they are engaged in an entrepreneurship of the social. Let’s keep our eyes and ears open for entrepreneurs who live this ethic!
Hello Frank, good to hear that you took a positive spin into significance with the video. Here’s hoping you bring some of your significance back soon.
