Opening one’s self to Happiness

One couldn’t help but savour and celebrate their Canadian-ness as they watched the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics.  I did, and everyone I know was bubbling up and cheering with joy. Our athletes performed at their peaks and lived the engaged life of the “authentic happiness” and positive psychology movement whereby they finely matched their olympian capacities/strengths with the world level competitive challenges they faced.  The 2010 Olympics opened the world up to more happiness.  Coke’s ad campaign that called everyone world-wide to “open happiness”   pretty much summarizes my feelings this morning after.  Today would be a good day to toast our Canadian Olympians and the outstanding volunteers and organizers, so raise those bottles of Coke and, ready, set, go….”THREE CHEERS”.

I love how you freely “cheer”, Alisa. If everyone gave away cheers so freely the world would be a happier place indeed. Here’s trusting you’ll bring us back some “cheers” sometime soon. Zefrione what a beautiful email name!

I’ve just returned from Vancouver and things are STILL pulsing happiness. At an event I was at, we all were joyfully engaged in watching some recordings of masterful events. what a joy!! and the delightful laughter is so contagious. Thank you Dan, for creating this forum to help us to remember!!

Something really magical happened here in Vancouver and across Canada when we won the first gold medal on home turf and then went on to set a record number of gold medals. Having volunteered at the ’88 Olympics in Calgary, we thought we did the best and the bar was raised even further here in Vancouver. With the eyes of the world upon us, Canada and Vancouverites really wowed the world and all of us. Recently, I was in the States and my American friends and European friends there were thrilled with the Spirit of Canada. Thanks Dan for voicing the joy of being Canadian.
