When a Why helps a How

Have you ever asked yourself, “How am I ever going to get through this”?  In our existentially saturated lived lives most of us have and will again.  “How” is a statement about process.  “Why” is a statement about purpose.  Paraphrasing Nietzsche, “give a person a why and they will endure any how”.  So if you’re striving to get through difficult times or processes then create and act upon your passionately held purposes.  You can find your purpose in life by examining your core values and then living them.  Once you understand your purpose and take the responsibility to act upon that purpose you’ll be rewarded with pure joy.  A why helps a how whenever we use values-based actions to end our life denying thoughts.  As Phillip Roth wrote in The Human Stain, “action is the enemy of thought”.  ACT NOW, your life depends upon it.
